Submission guidelines
We accept submissions on ongoing basis. Additionally from time to time we hold special calls for submissions for specific events. Please see below if you are interested in participating. We welcome submissions from artists at every stage of their career, every background and every medium. Submission materials should be sent by e-mail to submissions@outinthesticks.ca or by mail to: “Submissions” P.O. Box 174, Yarker, ON, K0K 3N0. Please note that we do not return submitted materials, unless you request it clearly and pay the shipping cost. After a decision is made the materials will be properly disposed. Please follow specific guidelines for your medium.
- Visual Arts
Please send up to 10 images on CD or by e-mail. Images should be in jpg format, 72 dpi, not larger than 1MB, accompanied by images list (number, title, medium, dimensions), your CV and brief description. Please indicate if there are any special technical requirements. All text documents should be in doc or PDF format. If you have a website or other web presentation of your works, please include the link in the body of your e-mail.
Our gallery space is 25 feet long and 22 feet wide. In some cases we may organize additional space.
We pay exhibition fee according to the CARFAC guidelines. We cover the cost of the exhibition opening and the production of a catalogue. In some cases we may assist with related costs (shipping, framing, invitations), depending on our current capability. We may assist with selling your works at 10% commission.

- Film and Video
Please send us your film/documentary/video art on DVD. Alternatively you may send us a link to a full version of it if available on the internet (your website, You Tube, others). Attach your CV and a brief description of your work in doc or PDF format.
You will be paid from free donations of viewers and additionally you may sell your DVDs after projection. We will assist you in organizing it.

- Music
Please send us your CD or link to the web presentation of your music. Attach your CV, information about your availability and specific technical requirements.
Solo musicians and big bands are equally welcome. We present every kind of music, from experimental, through jazz to hip-hop. Our space is not big and suits better cameral concerts, but we may use bigger spaces of our partners or organize open-air concerts.
Please indicate your financial expectations. You will be paid from either free donations of public or entrance fee. Additionally we will assist you with selling your CDs at no commission. We provide accommodation and food for travelling bands.

- Other
If you would like to submit a theatre performance, dance performance, happening, street art , poetry for poetry readings, or anything else not mentioned in other categories, please contact us at submissions@outinthesticks.ca . Please send us a short description of your project and indicate estimated budget. We will contact you for more details.

- Lectures
Please send us a brief description of the lecture you would like to give and your CV (hard copy by mail or document in doc or PDF format by e-mail). We present all topics connected to art and culture, from ancient art of Egypt to rap music. You don’t have to be a University professor to give lecture here. If you know your topic well and you have something interesting to say about it, this is what is most important. Please indicate if you plan to use a slide-show, video presentation or other additional features.
